On 15 September 2018, during the 2018-19 Ligue 1 season Pepe netted his hat-trick including two penalties against Amiens by 3-2. On 14 April 2019, Pepe netted one goal and assisted two in securing a win against the PSG, he finished the 2018-19 Ligue 1 season with 22 goals second only to Kylian Mbappe with 11 assists, he was named in the UNFP Team of the Year. On 1st August 2019, Pepe joined Arsenal for a club-record fee of 79 million Euros overlapping the record of Pierre Emerick Aubameyag of 62 Million Euros. He made his debut for Arsenal as a substitute for J Mac in 71st Minute, played his 90-minute professional match against the Liverpool in a 3-1 loss, but in the match, he became the first player to dribble the past the Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk in 50 Premier League matches.
