BCCI announces 15 member squad of Indian Women’s team for 2022 ODI World Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced India women’s squad for ICC women`s world cup 2022 and the New Zealand series earlier today. Mithali Raj will lead the team while Harmanpreet Kaur is going to be the Vice-Captain for this marquee event which will take place in New Zealand . While the in-form batter Jemimah Rodrigues and Right-hand medium pacer Shikha Pandey are not included in the playing 15 of the world cup.

Team India will start their outing  against our rivals Pakistan at the Bay Oval Tauranga. The squad will also feature in a 5-match ODI series against New Zealand which will begin from 11th Feb 2022.

After facing Pakistan in the women`s world cup, team India will face New Zealand on (March 10), West Indies (March 12), England (March 16), Australia (March 19), Bangladesh (March 22), South Africa (March 27) in the group stages.

Here is the 15-member squad for Indian team in world cup  2022 and 5 match ODI series against NZ : Mithali Raj (Captain), Harmanpreet Kaur (vice-captain), Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Yastika Bhatia, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh (wicket-keeper), Sneh Rana, Jhulan Goswami, Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Renuka Singh Thakur, Taniya Bhatia (wicket-keeper), Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Yadav.

Standby Players: Sabbhineni Meghana, Ekta Bisht, Simran Dil Bahadur.

The BCCI also announced a 16-member squad for a one-off T20I against New Zealand, which will be played on February 9.
