Yastika Bhatia Early Life
Yastika bhatia is an Indian Cricketer hailing from Vadodara, Gujarat, India. Yashika Bhatia was born on 1 November, 2000. Yastika is 21 years old and women’s Indian Cricketer and been representing from a very young age. Yastika did her schooling with a degree of Bachelor of Arts from Delhi Public School, Vadodara and later on she went to Amity University for her higher education.
Yastika Bhatia belongs from a doctor family as her father, Shri Harish Bhatia is a doctor himself and her mother, Garima Bhatia is a surgeon. From the very beginning Yastika’s family insisted her to take up sports and wanted her to become a successful sports person, where her cricketing journey started. Yastika elder sister’s name is Josita bhatia and she also used to train together but later she left cricket and persuade her medical field.
Yastika Bhatia Domestic Career
Yastika bhatia had a great cricketing career start. Yastika represented west zone Baroda U-19 team in 2016, where she played a amazing knock of 230 runs to taking her side to victory. In the same season, she scored a madien ODI century against Maharastra, Later on with crucial performance she got selected in the U-19 NCA academy which is run by the current coach of Indian team, Rahul Dravid.
Yastika also captained the Baroda team in 2016-17 season. Many cricket fraternity believes she can be the next women’s skipper.
Speaking of captaincy innings, Yastika bhatia scored a T20 century against Manipur in the National under-23 Women’s tournament. With her amazing performances at the domestic level, In 2021, Yastika Bhatia got her first national call-up from India team.
Yastika Bhatia International Career
In February 2021, Harmanpreet Kaur got injured in a series against New Zealand and therefore youngster Yastika got her first chance to shine but unfortunately she didn’t get any playing time.
In September 2021, Yastika was once again called to national side for series against australia. This time she finally got a chance to play, making her Women’s One Day International debut on 21 September 2021.
In the 3rd ODI, Yastika bhatia scored a brilliant knock of 64 and taking her side to victory with a match winning partnership of 101 runs. Yastika Bhatia made her Test debut on 30 September 2021, and her T20I debut on 7 October 2021, both against Australia.
In December 2021, Yastika scored a 102 ball 86 against India D while playing for India A in the women’s Challenger Trophy final.
In January 2022, Bhatia was named in India’s team for the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.
