One of the most successful left-arm spinners in first-class cricket, Shahbaz Nadeem has finally earned an Indian call-up after years of performing at the domestic level.

It’s hasn’t been an easy journey for the Ranchi Cricketer who has performed consistently in the domestic circuit only to be ignored for the biggest stage.

However, the luck has finally smiled on Nadeem, as he earned a national call-up ahead of the third test against South Africa, and, in fact, made his debut in the third and final test of the series.

30-year old Shahbaz Nadeem made his first-class debut in 2004 which is the earliest among all the players in the current test playing XI.

Shahbaz Nadeem also holds the record for best figures in List A cricket: 8 for 10 against Rajasthan in 2018-19.

He made his first-class debut against Kerala on 4th December 2004 at Jamshedpur. He picked up 2 wickets in the first innings and went wicketless in the second innings of the test match.

Very few know the fact that both Shahbaz and his brother Assad had played cricket at the domestic level.
