The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has suspended its secretary general, Pramod Kumar, with immediate effect, The Times of India reported. The suspension is over alleged financial irregularities, failure to cooperate with investigations and misuse of authority.

BFI president Ajay Singh issued the order on Tuesday, pending an inquiry, according to The Times of India. One allegation is that Kumar issued a work order for broadcasting arrangements without the required approval.

India Today reported that the suspension came a day after an intimidation complaint was sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Times Now reported that it followed a push for a no-confidence vote against Ajay Singh.
