Sachin Tendulkar becomes the first to break silence on Twitter verified tick removal!

Many International actors, athletes and renowned entities had their Twitter blue tick snatched away by Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Friday morning. Not many would have expected this to take place and it has come as quite a shocker. A-list cricketers like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, etc. were among those who were excluded from receiving the Verified ticks. Fans questioned Twitter’s decision in response to it.

As a safeguard against spam and impersonation on the social media site, journalists, prominent figures, and celebrities used to receive the free legacy blue checkmarks. However, on Thursday, Twitter, which Elon Musk, a business tycoon and Tesla CEO, took over last year, deleted the blue ticks from users that don’t pay a monthly membership for the service.

Even the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar was questioned by a fan about how he could identify the genuine Sachin Tendulkar on Twitter without the Blue tick. The Master Blaster responded to the concerned fan in a lovely way.

The Master Blaster gave a fitting response by uploading a picture of his with a sign of Tick using his hand. He also wrote a funny caption saying this picture verifies my account and it is the only ID of his.

The World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni, goalkeeper PR Sreejesh of men’s hockey, wrestler Vinesh Phogat, two-time World Boxing Champion Nikhat Zareen, Olympic medalists Saina Nehwal, Neeraj Chopra, and Bajrang Punia, among many other Indian sporting legends, have all lost their blue ticks.

Tennis greats Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe, and basketball legend Stephen Curry are all no longer “verified” on the social media site.
