RB Leipzig also known as The Red Bulls is a German Football Club. They participate in DFB-Pokal, Saxony Cup and Bundesliga
HISTORY
The club was founded 10 years ago on 19th May 2009 by the Red Bull Company after the company purchased the rights of then fifth-tier side SSV Markranstadt.
The newly formed club from its debut (2009-10 ) dominated the NOV-Oberliga Sud and promoted itself to the Regionalliga Nord champions. In 2012-13 they won the Regionalliga season without a single defeat and thus got promoted to the 3. Liga.
In 2013-14 in 3. Liga season the club ended as runner-up and got promoted to the 2. Bundesliga for the first time.
After the club’s promotion in Bundesliga on 8th May 2016 a year later the club captured a place in the 2017-18 UEFA Champions League.
Club Ownership
The club ownership is in the hands of Austrian company Red Bull GmbH which is famous for producing Red Bull energy drinks as well as sponsoring a wide range of sporting events and teams.
The Red Bull Arena serves the club as their home ground. Located in Am Sportforum 3, Leipzig, Germany the stadium has a net capacity to hold 50,000 spectators.
The current net worth of the club is 9 Billion Dollars.
