The Vivo Pro Kabaddi League has picked up its pace and all that the teams have to do now is adapt and attack. Nonstop action of the PKL resumed with a scintillating contest between Haryana Steelers and Tamil Thalaivas.

The Resurgent Haryana Steelers continued with their winning ways and jump right onto the second spot of the Pro Kabaddi League season 9 points table. Haryana have joined Delhi and Bengaluru as the only team to remain undefeated this season.

Meanwhile the Tamil Thalaivas were missing their marquee raider Pawan Sehrawat who was brought into the team for a record breaking bid of 2.26 Crores. The Raider sustained an injury in his previous match and he had to leave during the initial minutes of the game.

Thalaivas crashed in front of the Steelers as Raider Manjeet Dahiya picked up his 27th Raid point already in two matches. The previous match saw him collect 19 raid points and he bagged 8 raid points tonight.

Haryana’s substitute raider Meetu helped towards his team’s win by collecting 4 raid points. The Steelers’ defense looked rock solid and maintained a Tackle success rate of 66.67%. Left Cover Jaideep Dahiya picked up 5 tackle points, right cover Mohit got 2 tackles to his name, and All-rounder Nitin Rawal aided the defense by securing 3 tackle points.

As for the Tamil Thalaivas, they were all out twice in the match and it just couldn’t go right for them. They had a raid strike rate of only 16.67% in front of Haryana’s 25.58% raid strike rate. Tamil raiders failed to keep the raid points come in but Captain and Right corner defender Sagar picked up the most points from his time with 5 Tackle points to his name.

The final score line at the end of match was 27-22.

Patna Pirates Vs. Telegu Titans

The second match of the evening saw Telegu Titans defeat Patna Pirates by a margin of 9 points. The Titans will be happy to pick up their first win of the season and they also handed the Pirates their 3rd defeat in a row this season.

Patna came close but they had no solution for the problems that Telegu Titans were causing. Telegu raider Siddharth Desai collected 7 raid points, Defender Surjeet singh won 4 raid points, 2 tackle points by Parvesh Bhainswal, 2 raid points by Vinay, 10 Raid points by Monu Goyat and 1 tackle point each for Vijay Kumar and Vishal Bhardwaj.

The whole Titans’ team contributed for the victory and clinically outplayed the Pirates. It was another off day for the Pirates as Raider Sachin, All-rounder Rohit Gulia, Mohammadreza Chiyaneh & Abdul Insamam and Defender Sunil could manage to score only 20 points

The Titans had a better raid strike rate -41.46% as compared to Patna’s 34.15%. In terms of tackle success rate too the Titans were miles ahead with 45% and the Pirates were restricted till 31.58%.
