Pro Kabaddi League 2022 season 9 : Day 7 Live updates and streaming

Matchday 7 of Pro Kabaddi League season 9

The Pro Kabaddi League season 9 resumed for day 7 action following a gap of one day. Some nail-biting contests were on offer in the last 6 matchdays and day 7 was no exception.

Tamil Thalaivas Vs. U Mumba

Match 16 of Pro Kabaddi League season 9

The first fixture of the evening saw two struggling sides – Tamil Thalaivas and U Mumba lock horns with each other. Thalaivas were without PKL’s most expensive player Pawan Sehrawat, who is yet to play a match this season after sustaining an injury during the initial minutes of Thalaivas’ first match.

Thalaivas’ ship seems to be drowning without Pawan Sehrawat as they lost the match by a margin of 7 points. Their Raid Strike rate of 52.38% reflects that other raiders need to catch up and win matches on their own. Raider Narendar was the only Tamil player to reach double figures in the match with 15 Raid points. Their tackle success rate(24.24%) was also very poor and they find themselves in the 10th spot.

Meanwhile, U Mumba climbed up to the 5th spot after their win against Tamil Thalaivas. This was their second win on the trot and they are gaining a lot of confidence as the season is proceeding. Raiding trio of Guman Singh (12 Raid points), Ashish (10 Raid points) and Jai Bhagwan ( 8 Raid points) destroyed the Tamil defense all over as they shared 30 raid points between them.

They had a good Raid strike rate of 66.67% and had a decent tackle success rate of 35%. Final score line at the end of 40 minutes – Tamil Thalaivas 3239 U Mumba.

Haryana Steelers Vs. Jaipur Pink Panthers

Match number 17 of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League season 9

Match number 17 of the Pro Kabaddi League season 9 featured a clash of two titans as the Pink Panthers from Jaipur handed Haryana’s first defeat of the season. The Steelers were on a run of 2 unbeaten matches but they were humbled by season 2 champions Jaipur by thick margin of 13 points.

The Panthers collectively outclassed the Steelers with the help of some emphatic individual performances. Raider Arjun Deshwal completed his Super 10 and brought back a total of 14 raid points. Rahul Chaudhari and V Ajith also joined the party as both collected a combined number of 9 raid points.

Jaipur had a raid success rate of 45.24%  and maintained their Raid strike rate at 52.38%. The Defensive department supported the raiders throughout the match as Captain Sunil Kumar tackled 8 Haryana players, Right corner Sahul Kumar grabbed 2 tackle points whereas Ankush and Lucky Sharma notched one tackle point each.

Things did not go as plan for the Haryana Steelers as they lacked the spark which was on display in their first two matches. Manjeet Dahiya was unable to tear the Panthers defense apart as he only managed to win 3 raid points. His team mate Raider Meetu looked like the best player for Haryana on the mat as he picked up whopping 16 raid points.

Their raid success rate (39.02%) and raid strike rate of 48.78% was not enough to beat the one-time champions. Their Tackle success rate of 24.14% describes the type of night they had and they will be hoping to bounce back in their next match. Final score line at the end of full-time was 31-44.

Gujarat Giants Vs. Puneri Paltan

Pro Kabaddi League season 9

Giants from Gujarat defeated Puneri Paltan on the final fixture of matchday 7. The Giants have now opened their winning account as they overpowered today’s opponents by a decent margin of 10 points.

Gujarat raiders had a decent night as almost every raider contributed from their behalf. Rakesh was Gujarat’s best player of the night as he completed his Super 10 and won 15 raid points. Captain Chandran Ranjit (4 raid points)and Mahendra Rajput (3 raid points) shared 7 raid points between them. They had an impressive raid strike rate of 65.91% and had a 50% raid success rate.

As for Puneri Paltan, it was yet another night to forget. Lack of experience and over dependency on marquee players saw them taste their 2nd defeat of the season. Raider Aslam Inamdar was absolutely furious as he was just 1 point away from winning 20 raid points.

His contribution of 19 raid points was accompanied by Akash Shinde’s 4 raid points and Mohit Goyat’s 6 raid points. Their defense could only grab 6 tackle points and they failed to help the team prevail. However, they had a decent raid strike rate of 54.55% and raid success rate of 40.91%.

The final score line at the end of 40 minutes was 47-37.
