Poland Tennis ace Iga Swiatek wins WTA Player of the Year award

Iga Swiatek, the Newcomer of the Year in 2020, had an outstanding season in 2022. She won eight tournaments, including six in a row, and had a 37-match winning streak.

On Monday, the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) awarded Polish tennis star Iga Swiatek the Player of the Year award for her outstanding performance in the year 2022.

Iga Swiatek, the Newcomer of the Year in 2020, had an outstanding season in 2022. She won eight tournaments, including six in a row, and had a 37-match winning streak. She rose to the top of the women’s singles rankings as a result of her outstanding performance.

Eight championships have been won, including two Grand Slams at Roland Garros and the US Open, as well as WTA 1000 titles, Total Energy Open (Doha), BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells), Miami Open, Internazionali BNL d’Italia (Rome) (Rome), and Porsche Tennis Grand Prix are all held in Qatar (Stuttgart). Swiatek won 67 matches this season, according to the WTA Tour website.
