Patna Pirate Team 2019: A team based in Bihar, Patna Pirates proudly call themselves the most successful team in Pro Kabaddi League. Currently led by Pardeep Narwal, Patna Pirates have emerged victorious three times in the history of Pro Kabaddi.  Having been to the semi-finals twice in season one (2014) and season two (2015), the Pirates lifted the trophy for the first time in season three (January) in 2016. Patna won the next two tournaments in 2016(June) and 2017 to become the first team to win three consecutive titles in the history of Pro Kabaddi. However, the same Patna Pirates failed to even make it to the playoffs for the first time ever in 2018-19 season 6.

Owners: The team is owned by Rajesh V. Shah of Mukand Group.

Home Ground: Their home ground is Patliputra Sports Complex, Patna which can house about 20,000 spectators.

Season Wise Performance

Season 1 (2014)

POSITION: 3rd
WINNER: Jaipur Pink Panthers
Led by the then skipper Rakesh Kumar, Patna Pirates reached the third position in the points table in season one in 2014. Patna played as many as 16 matches, winning eight and losing six out of them. Jaipur Pink Panther won the inaugural title, defeating U Mumba by 35-24 points. U Mumba Anup Kumar was adjudged as the top raider with 155 points to his name, while Manjeet Chhillar won the best defender in the league with 51 points.

Season 2 (2015)

Position: Fourth
Winner: Telugu Titans
The second season saw them reach the fourth spot behind U Mumba, Telugu Titans, and Bengaluru Bulls in the first, second, and third position respectively. In total 16 matches, Patna managed to win 7 matches with 43.75 win percentage. Telugu Titans won the second season with as many 586 points to their name. Kashiling Adake playing for Dabang Delhi in season two was the most successful raider with 114 points.

Season 3 (2016)

Patna Pirates won their first title in what was the third Pro Kabaddi league season. Patna defeated U Mumba in a nail-biting final by three close points to claim their debut trophy. Patna Pirates in that season enjoyed 75 win percentage, winning 12 and losing four. Pardeep Narwal was adjudged as the top raider with 116 points to his name, while Manjeet Chillar won the best defender in the league with 61 points.

Season 4 (2016)

Led by Pardeep Narwal, Patna Pirates won the Pro Kabaddi title for the second consecutive time in the tournament. Patna in season four won 12 matches out of 16, with 75 win percentage. Pardeep Narwal was adjudged as the top raider with 369 points in 26 matches.

Season 5 (2017)

The fifth season of Pro Kabaddi League saw Patna Pirates win the title for the third consecutive time, becoming the first time to achieve the feat. Patna had a slightly lesser win percentage of 59.84, winning 16 matches out of 26. Pardeep Narwal in that season also became the first player to score 100 points with an average of 12.77 in nine matches. Pardeep Narwal was adjudged as the top raider with 369 points in 26 matches, while Manjeet Chillar won the best defender in the league with 61 points.

Season 6 (2018-19)

Position: Sixth
Winner: Bengaluru Bulls
The three-time title winner, Patna Pirates failed to even reach the playoffs for the first time ever in the history of the tournament. Patna showcased their worst performance in Season 6, winning only nine games out of 21 with a win percentage of 42.86.
