Nitu Ghanghas Personal Life

One of the few strong female personas in the international circuit for the country, Nitu Ghanghas will feature for India in the upcoming Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. The 21-year-old from Haryana will have a lot of hopes on her gloves when she wears the tricolors on her chest in the next few days.

Nitu Ghanghas Professional Life

Starting her career as early as 2012, the player has featured predominantly in the 48 kg category. In 2012, she participated in the regional competitions but had to wait for five years to win the first medal. She won her first medal in Guwahati in the AIBA competition.

In 2018, she went on to win the Gold Medal in Asian Youth Boxing Championship. She suffered injuries for two years before staging a comeback in 2022. She won the 73rd Strandja Memorial Boxing Tournament held in Bulgaria. In her early days, she had a fracture on her pelvic bone due to a vehicle accident.

For the CWG 2022 berth, Nitu Ghangahs was supposed to face the 6 times world champion veteran boxer, MC Mary Kom but unfortunately, Mary Kom got injured while training and was out for a month and forfeit the match against youngster Nitu Ghanghas. 

However, Nitu Ghanghas got a chance to make her debut in Commonwealth Games, and boxing fans are having high hopes for the Youngster.

Indian boxer Nitu Ghanghas’s father’s name is Jai Bhawani Singh and works as a bill messenger at Haryana Vidha Sabha House her mother’s name is Mukesh Devi and she works as a homemaker. Nitu Ghanghas also has a younger brother named, Akshit Ghanghas.

Though it wasn’t the easiest journey for young boxer Nitu Ghanghas as she used to travel two and a half hours of training in the morning. Father, Jai Bhagwan was the biggest supporter of her daughter. Once Jai Bhagwan also risked his government job to help Nitu Ghanghas and did everything to make her dreams true.

After a few years, Jai Bhagwan finally devoted himself totally to Nitu’s training as he took the unpaid leave and moved back to his village and started going to training with Nitu every.

Nitu Ghanghas won the gold medal in the 2017 AIBA Youth Women’s World Boxing Championships held in Guwahati.

Indian young boxer clinched the Gold medal in the 2018 Asian Youth Boxing Championships.

Won the Gold medal in the 2022 73rd Strandja Memorial Boxing Tournament, Sofia, Bulgaria.
