Adeel Alam, popularly known by his in-ring name Ali & Mustafa Ali, is an American professional wrestler, who is currently working with World Wrestling Entertainment for SmackDown brand. Ali wanted to be a professional wrestler since his childhood hence he started his career by joining the independent circuit in 2003 and became Dreamwave Alternative Champion and Dreamwave Heavyweight Champion at Dreamwave Wrestling.

He was also a part other wrestling units including All American Wrestling, Freelance Wrestling, GALLI Lucha Libre, IWA Mid-South, Jersey All Pro Wrestling, National Wrestling Alliance, Proving Ground Pro, and WrestleCircus.

Ali has also bagged Freelance Wrestling Championship once, Jersey All Pro Wrestling (JAPW) Light Heavyweight Championship once and Proving Ground Pro (PGP) Franchise Championship once.

During his childhood, Ali motivated himself idolizing some wrestling greats Bret Hart, Chris Jericho, Triple H, Late Eddie Guererro, and Rey Mysterio.

Mustafa Ali was once rejected by WWE in 2013 when they did not sign him and he deals with his rejection very professionally.

In 2016, Mustafa Ali joined WWE to participate in the Cruiserweight Classic however he was eliminated from the tournament after being defeated by Lince Dorado in the first round.

Ali was born on March 28, 1986, in Bolingbrook, Illinois. His father is a Pakistani and mother is an Indian, who is from New Delhi. Ali started his college but a sudden demise of his father led him to earn the livelihood for his family. He became a police officer in Homewood, Illinois, a suburb south of Chicago. After serving the job for four years, decided to follow his childhood dream of becoming a professional wrestler.

Ali worked in wrestling promotions during his early phase of career such as including All American Wrestling, Freelance Wrestling, GALLI Lucha Libre, IWA Mid-South, Jersey All Pro Wrestling, National Wrestling Alliance, Proving Ground Pro, and WrestleCircus.

Ali resides in Chicago, Illinois, the United States with his lovely wife Uzma. The couple has two children together, a son, Rayaan and a daughter, Amara. Ali belongs to a Muslim religion hence he faced criticism for not displaying a Pakistani flag and representing the country by his Pakistani fans in January 2017, on which he stated that he has nothing to do nationality but unity.

Ali started his professional wrestling career in 2003 where he joined Dreamwave Wrestling and bagged Dreamwave Alternative Championship and Dreamwave Heavyweight Championship. During his period from 2003-2016 with Independent circuit platforms, Ali also held wrestling titles such as Freelance Wrestling Championship, Jersey All Pro Championship and Proving Ground Pro Franchise Championship once.

Alam became a part of WWE family in 2016, where he participated in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament, however, he tasted defeat in a match against Lince Dorado in the first round. Ali joined WWE’s new show dedicated to cruiserweight wrestlers, 205 Live, where he battled some cruiserweight wrestlers like Akira Tozawa, Noam Dar, Brian Kendrick, and Ricky Swann.

His wrestling career got a huge push after he participated in Cruiserweight Championship tournament and advanced to the finals on the WrestleMania 34 kickoff, where he lost to Cedric Alexander.

Following his outstanding performance during his tenure with 205 Live, Ali was signed for Smackdown brand where his first feud was started with then WWE Champion Daniel Bryan, however, he was defeated in a one-on-one against him but he later teamed up with Styles to defeat Daniel Bryan and Andrade “Cien” Almas in a tag team match.

His incredible consistency inside the squared circle was making him a ‘fan favorite’ among the WWE Universe. At Royal Rumble 2019, Ali performed brilliantly and lasted for 30 minutes where he eliminated heavyweights like Samoa Joe and Nakamura. Ali got an opportunity to earn WWE Championship title once in for all, however, he was out from Elimination Chamber match event after suffering from a legit injury and his place was later filled by high-flying wrestler and current WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.

Ali received another opportunity to earn a championship match of his own choice by being a part of Money in The Bank ladder match, however he failed to grab the spot due to interference of Brock Lesnar to win Money in the Bank contract.

Alam also participated in the 51-man battle royal at Super ShowDown but failed to win again. He recently challenged Shinske Nakamura for Intercontinental Championship at WWE Smackville pay-per-view, where was defeated again.

During his time at Live 205, WWE Universe started considering him as “The Heart of 205 Live” where he received recognition in professional wrestling platform. His finishing move named as 450-degree splash was inspired by Late Eddie Guererro’s vintage frog splash move.

Alam also made his WWE video game this year. He is now a playable character in WWE 2K19.
