Mumbai Indians have continued dominating the IPL 2020 as they beat Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday to take the top spot in the points table. With that win, Mumbai Indians have registered a total of 4 wins in 6 games.
Wicket-keeper batsman, Quinton de Kock has found form just at the right time. Both Rohit and de Kock have once again given their team a good start as they raced to 49 inside just 5 overs. Though, both of them got out after getting decent starts. Rohit made 35 off 23, while Quinton de Kock scored 23 runs off just 15 balls.
Suryakumar Yadav proved out to be the star of the show. The Mumbai Indians batsman made sure he converts his start into a big score. He notched his first half-century of the tournament, scoring 79 runs off just 47 balls, including 11 fours and 2 sixes.
Rajasthan Royals did try to pull it back in between, however, an outstanding partnership between Suryakumar and Hardik Pandya helped the side notch another massive total of 193 runs in 20 overs.
With such a big total to chase, Rajasthan needed a good start but what they got was exactly opposite. A sensational opening spell from Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult led to Rajasthan reeling at 12 for 3 in just 3 overs. Both their key batsmen in Steven Smith and Sanju Samson departed too early.
Jos Buttler, though, singlehandedly led the fightback. He went hammer and tongs and looked confident of singlehandedly chasing down the total until Kieron Pollard took one of the sensational catches of the tournament to send Buttler packing in the fourteenth over. The English batsman scored 70 runs off just 44 balls, including 4 fours and 5 sixes.
Wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals after that and Rajasthan Royals were folded for 136 runs in the end. Rajasthan Royals have now lost their second consecutive game and are in all sorts of trouble at the moment.
Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowler for Mumbai. He took 4 wickets while giving just 20 runs.
