Indian star batsman Rohit Sharma receives  Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award for his outstanding performance in cricket in last few years for India. He became the fourth Indian cricketer to receive the highest sporting honour given by Sports Ministry as he joins Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli who have received this award before.

Also Indian speedster Ishant Sharma and spin sensation Deepti Sharma received Arjuna Award for their exemplary performance in the field of cricket.

Rohit, who has been recognized for his brilliance with the bat in the India colours, however, has his eyes firmly set on defending the IPL title with the Mumbai Indians in UAE. He is one of the most successful captains in the history of IPL as under his leadership Mumbai Indians lifted IPL trophy four times till now.

He also became the first player who scored five centuries during 50 overworld Cup recently held in England a record which will not be easy for any opening batsman to break in the years to come.

Deepti Sharma Biography

His teammate Ishant Sharma who is the regular member of Indian Test lineup played 97 Tests and 80 ODIs for India and picked over 400 International wickets combining both formats.

Whereas Deepti Sharma has been a sensation for Indian women’s team with her ability to pick wickets in a crunch situation in ODI as well as T20 format for India.

Earlier in the year, Deepti had played an all-round role in the 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup and was instrumental in India beating the strong Australian women’s team in their own backyard where she proved her all-round brilliance as she scored unbeaten 49 runs and took important wickets for India.
