Sunrisers Hyderabad are on the back of a defeat against Kings XI Punjab and are up against the second-placed Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. The playoffs race is heated and the teams for the playoffs are yet to qualify. With KXIP winning the game yesterday, the teams below them have to bring their act together.

The bowling had restricted the star-studded Kings XI Punjab line up for a mere 126 at the end of 20 overs. However, the Orange Army failed to get over the line despite getting a flying start from Jonny Bairstow and David Warner. Chris Jordan‘s effective spell in the death overs diminished the hopes of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing edition of the league.

In the remaining games, Sunrisers Hyderabad can accumulate a maximum of six points which means the team can reach a maximum of 14 points. For the qualification scenario, the team might have to wait for other teams’ results too as KKR and KXIP can potentially reach 16 points. The qualification might even boil down to the net run rate also.

If Sunrisers Hyderabad are to have a chance, they have to play their skin out against Delhi Capitals. They are also on the back of a defeat against KKR and will look to put an act together. It will be an intriguing game on Tuesday:

Here are the top three picks for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday:

#1) David Warner

David Warner Best Opener in IPL

The Australian international and the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad has gone off-colour after a great start to the tournament. The player was in the race to win the Orange Cap but has suddenly gone down in the order. The southpaw has to look-up and performs if Sunrisers have to qualify for the next stage.

In the previous game, the left-handed batsman gave a flying start to the team with his 35 runs from 20 balls. He sent the ball into the stands twice before getting dismissed. He will look to prove himself in a big match for his side.

#2) Sandeep Sharma

The Indian fast bowler is known for his inswingers through which he has dismissed the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli and his compatriot, AB de Villiers several times in the stadium. In the absence of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma has tried to fill the void with his powerplay overs. Though he is able to succeed, the team has failed to get going in the league. Despite the concerns, Sandeep Sharma will be one of the top three picks for Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday.

In the previous game against Kings XI Punjab, Sandeep Sharma accounted for two wickets. He priced the wicket of Mandeep Singh and Glen Maxwell who threatened to get going. Sandeep Sharma will have a big role to play against the stable yet shaky batting line-up of Delhi Capitals.

#3)  Jason Holder

The West Indian all-rounder was brought in as a replacement Mitchell Marsh who got injured in the first match of the tournament. With Kane Williamson getting injured against Kolkata Knight Riders, Jason Holder was drafted into the side which provided more stability to the team. On Tuesday, he will be one of the top three picks against the Delhi Capitals.

The player is in good form after he scalped two wickets against KXIP and conceded just 27 runs in his quota of four overs. He will look to provide substantial support with the bat too as his side requires it badly.
