Bindyarani Devi is an Indian weightlifter and was born on 27th January 1999 in Manipur. 

The lady from Manipur is termed as “Mirabai 2.0” in the neighborhood and across the nation as well. The Olympic medal winner, Mirabai Chanu, made India proud by winning the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Silver Medal which was the highest medal in the tournament until Neeraj Chopra won the gold.

Bindyarani Devi Professional Life:

Bindyarani Devi made her international debut at the 2016 World Youth Championship held in Penang, Malaysia. Bindyarani finished 10th overall in her first major competition.

Bindyarani Gold rose to prominence when she won the first medal of the tournament for India in the World Weightlifting Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Bindyarani Devi won the gold medal in the 54-kg women’s 55-kg Clean & Jerk category. The then 22-year-old had lifted a total of 198 kilograms (with the best being 114 kg) to pull off the heist for her nation.

The country will have hopes placed on the 25-year-old athlete to bring the highest medal/honor available to the home when she will represent the tricolor in the Commonwealth Games that will be held in Birmingham. She will represent India in the 59-kg category.
