70th All India Railway Kabaddi Championship : Match Day 1, 2 and 3 Results and updates

The 70th All India Railway Kabaddi Championship 2022, which is taking place after a hiatus of 2 years is all set to enter the quarter-final stages. The Group stages were absolutely exciting and there was cut throat competition as every team only had success in their minds.

After 2 days of non-stop Kabaddi action, we have all the 8 teams for the quarter-finals scheduled to take place today at the Central Railway Sports Association Ground at Palvel, Mumbai. But before we reveal the last 8 teams who have entered the QF, let’s revisit each and every results from 26th December to 28th December.

Match 1 – Central Railways Vs. Railway Protection Force (Pool C)

The First fixture of 70th All India Railway Kabaddi Championship saw Central Railways take on Railway Protection Force at 12:00 HRS. The Central Railways were expected to win this fixture against RPF given the fact that CR had a very strong squad as they had some of the stars of Pro Kabaddi League season 9. Central Railway’s team was under the captaincy of Dabang Delhi’s defender Sandeep Dhull. Their attacking front was powered by heavyweights like Shrikant Jadhav from Bengal Warriors, Puneri Paltan’s Pankaj Mohite and Tamil Thalaivas’ Ajinkya Pawar. CR walked away with a dominant victory against Railway Protection Force by a gigantic margin of 45 points. The Final scoreline was 59-14.

Match 2 – North Eastern Railways Vs. Eastern Railways (Pool A)

The second fixture of 70th All India Railway Kabaddi Championship saw North Eastern Railways take on Eastern Railways at 16:00 HRS. The NE Railways were expected to win this fixture against Eastern Railways given the fact that the former team had a balanced squad. North Eastern Railway’s team was under the captaincy of former Jaipur Pink Panthers’ raider Amit Nagar. The defense was marshaled by PKL 9 champion with Jaipur Sunil Kumar and Telegu Titans’ Parvesh Bhainswal. Their attacking front was powered by heavyweights like Rohit Gulia from Patna Pirates and Amit Nagar. Easter Railways only had one PKL star in the form of Sushil Kumar. This fixture went really close but NER eventually walked away with a win by 4 points. The Final scoreline was 58-54.

Match 3 – East Central Railways Vs. Rail Wheel Factory (Pool B)

The third fixture of 70th All India Railway Kabaddi Championship saw East Central Railways lock horns with Rail Wheel Factory at 16:00 HRS. The EC Railways had a relatively stronger side than RWF and were expected to win this fixture. ECR was under the captaincy of Parvesh. Both the teams were evenly balanced and it was Pool B’s first encounter. East Central Railways had Bengaluru Bulls’s PKL 9 raider Vikash Kandola. While Rail Wheel Factory were without any superstar name. In the end, ECR came out victorious and won the match by a margin of 6 points. The Final scoreline was 51-45.

Match 4 – SC Railways Vs. Western Railways (Pool D)

The fourth fixture of 70th All India Railway Kabaddi Championship saw SC Railways go against Western Railways at 17:00 HRS. The SC Railways had a very strong side as compared to Western Railways. SCR was under the captaincy of Nitish Kumar while Western Railway was led by Ravi Kumar. Both the teams were evenly balanced and it was Pool D’s first encounter. SC Railways had Telegu Titans’s main raider Siddharth Desai, former Patna Pirates raider Selvamani K and Monu. Western Railways only had Haryana Steelers’ Ravi Kumar. At the end of full time though, SCR came out victorious and won the match by a margin of 22 points. The Final scoreline was 41-19.

Match 5 – Northern Railways Vs. Railway Board (Pool C)

The fourth fixture of 70th All India Railway Kabaddi Championship saw Northern Railways go against Railway Board at 17:00 HRS. The Northern Railways had a very strong side in front of Railway Board’s seasoned squad. Northern Railways was under the captaincy of Bhupender Singh and Railway Board was led by Manjeet. Both the teams were evenly balanced and it was expected to be a close encounter. Northern Railways had Haryana Steelers’ raiders Meetu Sharma and Nitin Rawal. Railway Board were without any star name. At the end of full time though, Northern Railways came out victorious and won the match by a margin of 14 points. The Final scoreline was 23-9.

Match 6 – ICF Vs. North Western Railways (Pool B)

Match number 6 of 70th All India Railway Kabaddi Championship saw ICF Chennai square off against NW Railways at 18:00 HRS. Both the teams were evenly balanced and were without the presence of any big name from PKL. ICF was led by the captaincy of D. Suersh Kumar and North Western Railways was led by Suresh. At the end of full time, ICF were able to register a victory by a margin of 8 points. The Final scoreline was 36-28.

Match 7 – SER Vs. SECR (Pool D)

Match number 7 of 70th All India Railway Kabaddi Championship saw SER square off against SECR at 18:00 HRS. Both the teams were evenly balanced and were without the presence of any big name from PKL. SECR was led by the captaincy of Shashank Wankhede. At the end of full time, SER were able to register a victory by a margin of 35 points. The Final scoreline was 58-23.

Match 8 – North Eastern Railways Vs. PLW Patiala (Pool A)

Match number 8 of 70th All India Railway Kabaddi Championship saw NER square off against PLW Patiala at 15:30 HRS. Both the teams were evenly balanced and NER Had PKL stars like Sunil Kumar, Rohit Gulia, Parvesh Bhainswal and Amit Nagar but PLW Patiala were without the presence of any big name from PKL. NER was led by the captaincy of Amit Nagar and PLW was led by Rohtash. At the end of full time, North Eastern Railways were able to register a victory by a margin of 18 points. The Final scoreline was 32-14.

Match 9 – East Central Railways Vs. ICF Chennai (Pool B)

9th fixture of 70th All India Railway Kabaddi Championship saw ECR square off against ICF Chennai at 15:30 HRS. Both the teams were evenly balanced and ECR was led by the captaincy of Parvesh and ICF was led by D. Suresh Kumar. At the end of full time, East Central Railways were able to register a victory by a margin of 3 points. The Final scoreline was 35-32.

Match 10 – Northern Railways Vs. Railway Protection Force (Pool C)

Match number 10 of 70th AIR Kabaddi Championship brought Northern Railways taking on Railway Protection Force at 16:30 HRS. NR was under the captaincy of Bhupender Singh and RPF was led by Praveen. RPF suffered their 2nd defeat as Northern Railway won the match comfortably by a margin of 16 points. The final scoreline at the end of full time went in favor of Northern Railways – 36-20.

Match 11 – SER Vs. Western Railways (Pool D)

Match number 11 of 70th AIR Kabaddi Championship saw SER taking on Western Railways at 16:30 HRS. SER won their second match on the trot while Western Railways lost their first match. SER defeated WR by a margin of 17 points. The final scoreline at the end of full time was 39-22.

Match 12 – RWF Vs. NWR (Pool B)

Match number 12 of 70th AIR Kabaddi Championship saw RWF taking on NWR at 17:30 HRS. RWF won their first match of the tournament while NWR failed to win their second match. RWF defeated NWR by a margin of 13 points. The final scoreline at the end of full time was 41-28.

Match 14 – SCR Vs. SECR (Pool D)

Match number 14 of 70th AIR Kabaddi Championship saw SCR taking on SECR at 18:30 HRS. SCR won their second match of the tournament while SECR could now win their 2nd match either. SCR defeated SECR by a margin of 32 points. The final scoreline at the end of full time was 44-12.

Match number 15 of 70th AIR Kabaddi Championship saw CR taking on NR at 8:30 HRS. CR won their second match of the tournament while NR suffered their first loss after winning the first 2 matches. CR defeated NR by a margin of 3 points. The final scoreline at the end of full time was 61-58.

Match 16 – ER Vs. PLW (Pool A)

Match number 16 of 70th AIR Kabaddi Championship saw ER taking on PLW at 8:30 HRS. ER won their first match of the tournament while PLW are yet to win a match. ER defeated PLW in a one sided match and won the affair by a humiliating margin of 28 points. The final scoreline at the end of full time was 32-4.

Match 17 – ECR Vs. NWR (Pool B)

Match number 17 of 70th AIR Kabaddi Championship saw ECR taking on NWR at 9:30 HRS. ECR won their first match of the tournament while PLW are yet to win a match. ER defeated PLW in a one sided match and won the affair by a humiliating margin of 28 points. The final scoreline at the end of full time was 32-4.

Match 18 – SCR Vs. SER (Pool D)

Match number 18 of 70th AIR Kabaddi Championship saw SCR taking on SER at 9:30 HRS. SER defeated SCR by a very short margin of just 1 point. The final scoreline at the end of full time was 44-45.

Match 20 – SECR Vs. WR (Pool D)

Match 21 – RB Vs. RPF (Pool C)

Match number 21 of 70th AIR Kabaddi Championship saw RB taking on RPF at 11:30 HRS. RPF defeated RB by a margin of 17 points. The final scoreline at the end of full time was 25-8.
