Yograj Singh on MS Dhoni One of the greatest limited overs’ batsmen Yuvraj Singh’s father has often made headlines for his ruthless comments on MS Dhoni, and even questioned his position in the side. Yograj Singh has made a lot of controversial statements on India’s former captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, accusing him of leaving out players like Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, and Gautam Gambhir from the side after the 2011 World Cup.

A man who is in the news more for his cold-hearted comments about Dhoni than his performance in Punjabi movies, Yograj Singh never holds back in blaming Dhoni’s for India’s every cricket match defeat, be it in World Cups or bilateral series.

Recently, Yuvraj Singh’s father blamed Dhoni for India’s semi-final loss against New Zealand. He told in an interview that Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya lost their wickets in the match because MS Dhoni was playing at a slow-rate at the other end.

Yograj Singh also took a dig at the former Indian skipper at the time when Ambati Rayudu announced his retirement from all forms of the World Cup amidst the World Cup.

“Ambati Rayudu should have waited for some time as people like MS Dhoni will not be around forever.” Yograj Singh was quoted as saying in an interview.

Yograj Singh Makes a U-turn

However, in an interview with News 24 Sports, Yograj Singh has made a turnaround of statements on MS Dhoni, calling him a legendary cricket player.

Interestingly, Yograj Singh denied all his statements where he accused Dhoni of being responsible for India’s World Cup loss.

“I never said this. I never blamed MS Dhoni for the loss. It is not my version. You have asked a wrong question to the wrong person”, he said.

Yuvraj Father’s went on to say that he is an MS Dhoni fan and heaped praise on his captaincy skills.

“There is no doubt that he has been serving the nation for a long time. He is a legendary player. I am Dhoni’s fan. The way he has played the cricket, the way he has led the side, the kind of decisions he has taken, has been very good,” the 61-year-old further added.

Meanwhile, Mahendra Singh Dhoni will not feature in the series against West Indies, starting from 3rd August 2019. The former Indian captain has made himself unavailable for the West Indies tour, where India will be playing three T20s, three ODIs and two Tests.

MS Dhoni

He will be serving the Indian Army in Kashmir and will undertake the duties of Patrolling, and post duty, for about 15 days from 31st July to 15th August 2019.

“Lieutenant Colonel (Honorary) MS Dhoni is proceeding to 106 Territorial Army Battalion (Para) for being with the Battalion from 31 Jul-15 Aug 2019,” the Indian Army said in a statement.

“As requested by the officer and approved by Army Headquarters; he will be taking on the duties of patrolling, guard and post duty and would be staying with troops,” the Indian Army said in a statement.
