Women’s Premier League 2023: Top 5 overseas players for Gujarat Giants to watch out for WPL 2023

The BCCI has been making efforts to promote women’s cricket in India and has been investing in infrastructure and resources to develop the game at all levels. The Indian women’s cricket team has also been performing well in international competitions, which has helped to increase the popularity of the sport in the country.

Now, Bcci has announced the inaugural of WPL. In this tournament each team consists of both Indian and international players, with some of the biggest names in women’s cricket taking part.

Gujarat Giants secured some of the best foreign players in their squad. Earlier, Gujarat announced Beth mooney as their captain and Sneh rana the vice-captain of the team. Gujarat giants squad-  Ashleigh Gardner, Beth Mooney, Georgia Wareham, Sneh Rana, Annabel Sutherland, Deandra Dottin, Sophia Dunkleh, Sushma Verma,Tanuja Kanwer, Harleen Deol, Ashwani Kumar, Dayalan Hemalatha,Mansi Joshi, Monica Patel, Sabine Meghana, Hurley Gala,Parunika Sisodia,Shabnam Shakil.

*Ashleigh Gardner Gardner is an all-rounder, who bowls off-spin and bats right-handed. She made her debut for the Australian women’s cricket team in 2017 and has since become an integral part of the team. In 2019, Gardner was named the ICC Women’s T20I Player of the Year, after an outstanding year where she scored 532 runs and took 13 wickets in T20I.

In domestic cricket, Gardner plays for the New South Wales Breakers in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) and the Sydney Sixers in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL).

Gujarat giants aquired the services of gardener. They invested a huge amount of 3.2 crore to get Ashleigh. Gardner is the second most costliest player in Inaugural of WPL.

*Georgia Wareham– Georgia Wareham is a professional cricketer from Australia. In domestic cricket, Wareham plays for the Victoria Women’s cricket team in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) and the Melbourne Renegades in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). She has been a consistent performer for both teams and has played a key role in their success.

She has also spoken about the importance of mental health in sports and has shared her own experiences with anxiety and depression. Wareham is an ambassador for the charity, Livin, which promotes mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

*Anabelle Sutherland– Sutherland is an all-rounder, who bowls right-arm medium-fast and bats right-handed. She made her debut for the Australian women’s cricket team in 2019 and has since become a regular member of the team.

In domestic cricket, Sutherland plays for the Victoria Women’s cricket team in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) and the Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). She has been a consistent performer for both teams and has played a key role in their success.

*Deandra Dottin– Deandra Dottin is a professional cricketer from Barbados. She was born on June 5, 1991, in Saint Thomas, Barbados. Dottin is an all-rounder, who bowls right-arm medium-fast and bats right-handed. She made her debut for the West Indies women’s cricket team in 2008.

In domestic cricket, Dottin plays for the Barbados Women’s cricket team and has also played for the Brisbane Heat in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). She has been a consistent performer for both teams and has played a key role in their success. Off the field, Dottin is a keen football player and has represented Barbados at the national level.
