Sushma Verma is a Senior Indian National Women’s cricket team player who operates as a Wicket-keeper Batter. The 30-year-old was born in the Northern valley of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh who made her debut for India on 16th November 2014 against South Africa in a Test match.
She has always been fond of sports since childhood and played different type of games like Volleyball, Badminton and Handball before picking up the bat and donning the gloves behind the stumps. Sushma Verma is the first female native from Himachal Pradesh to play for India at the highest level.
Verma has played 2 world cups including the 2017 ICC Women’s Cricket World cup and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2020. She will be one of the players who will go under the hammer during the inaugural Women’s Premier League on 13 February 2023.
Sushma has featured in the Women’s T20 Challenge the previous version of WPL for Team Velocity.
