WATCH: Virat Kohli love gesture to Anushka Sharma After Splendid Catch of Rishabh Pant | IPL 2022

For many years we have seen the Indian cricket team producing great fielders like kaif and Yuvraj. In India’s modern-day cricket fielders like Virat Kohli, Rohit, and Jadeja have marked their names among the best fielders in the world.

Former RCB skipper Virat Kohli is an amazing fielder and this basic fact about India’s fielding game came to light once again in the Indian Premier League as he caught an excellent one-hand catch against Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.

The catch dismissed Delhi capital’s captain Rishabh Pant with that beauty and soon after gestured a love wave to Anushka who was seen smiling and cheering from the stands.

On Saturday, a well-scored half-century by Dinesh Kartikh and Glenn Maxwell helped Royal challengers Bangalore past Delhi capitals in Match 27 of IPL 2022.

RCB wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik scored an unbeaten 66 off only 34 balls to take his side to victory over DC.

Dinesh Karthik was seen as aggressive from the very start and scored a 97-run partnership with Shahbaz Ahmed later Glenn Maxwell joined the party from RCB’s 40/3 and posted a total of 189 runs in 20 overs.

Although, Virat Kohli decided to quit RCB captaincy and focus more on his batting and hand over the captaincy role to South African batter Faf Du Plessis.

However, Kohli is yet to score a fifty in the current tournament. Even against Delhi Capitals, Kohli looked good but then one mistake that made him run out was Lalit Yadav‘s direct throw. Kohli scored only 12 runs vs Delhi Capitals.

A number of cricket critics have said that Kohli is out of form including Sanjay Manjrekar who said he is judging Kohli by the length of sixes he hits.

“Virat Kohli did score some runs but when I see him, I focus on how far his sixes go – near the boundary, in the stands or the second tier. He’s still only just clearing the boundary ropes and this is what I have often said in the past year – Virat Kohli’s power game has diminished a bit. Five-six years ago he used to hit big sixes.

I will focus on that and not him hitting 50 or 60 runs. Once his power game gets better then I’ll say Virat Kohli has arrived in T20 cricket”, said Manjrekar while speaking to ESPNcricinfo.
