In their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Gujarat Titans on Saturday, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana and Andre Russell were both incensed at Suyash Sharma’s missed opportunity to remove David Miller. The hosts were lost by seven wickets as a result of their error.
Miller mishandled a delivery from Russell, and the ball rocketed far into the air with the match hanging in the balance. Although Suyash Sharma was able to take the ideal position, the young man was unable to hold on to the catch. The error naturally infuriated Russell, and Miller subsequently significantly contributed to ensuring GT’s victory at Eden Gardens.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz set the tone with a brilliant 39-ball 81 on a batting-friendly surface, but KKR only scored 45 runs and lost three wickets in the final five overs to fall short of the 200-run threshold.
In response, GT quickly reached the mark in 17.5 overs, with Vijay Shankar scoring 51 runs off 24 balls, while remaining undefeated.
The victory sent GT to the top of the points table with 12 points after eight games, however, they still need to win two more games to guarantee a position in the playoffs. KKR on the other hand is now facing early elimination after suffering their sixth loss in their last nine games, meaning they must now win all of their remaining five games.
