Real Madrid and Spain national team skipper, Sergio Ramos wants Argentine Striker and Barcelona legend Lionel Messi to stay with Barca. He said that it will be interesting if he stays as when you play against the top players you also improve a lot as a player.
He further stressed that every player has the right to decide his future and even if Messi don’t stay with Spanish club it is his call but no one can replace his contribution for Barca for all these years.
Ramos remarks come after reports circulating from past few weeks about Messi’s future as the ace player wants to leave the club after playing for them for 20 years.
“It’s something that we are not focussed on but the player has earned the right to be able to decide his future, ” Goal. com quoted Ramos as saying.
“Having said that for the Spanish game and for Barca and for rest of us, we would like him to stay as we want the best around, ” He added.
Earlier La Liga organisers took Barcelona’s side as they said that Messi still has contract with Spanish club and if any club wants Messi to play for them they have to pay the 700 million euros which is the release clause amount.
“The contract is currently in force and has a ‘termination clause’ applicable to the event that Lionel Messi decides to urge the early unilateral termination of the contract, carried out in accordance with article 16 of Royal Decree 1006/1985 of June 26th, by which regulates the special employment relationship of professional athletes ” La Liga said in a official statement.
On Sunday, Messi didn’t attend Barcelona pre-medical session as he continued to find his way out from the club. He wants to leave Barcelona on a zero clause amount as his contract ends in 2021.
Inter Milan, Manchester City and Paris Saint-German are the clubs who look interested in taking ace player as per the latest media reports. Messi is certainly regarded as one of the best players who have played the game and with his individual brilliance, he won six Ballon d’Or awards till date.
