A hard-fought T20I series between India and West Indies that had begun with a magnificent knock of 94 by Virat Kohli in the first game in Hyderabad ended with the Men in Blue notching up 240 runs while batting first in the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After Kieron Pollard won the toss and sent India in to bat first, it was pure carnage as the Indian openers piled on 135 in no time to set the ball rolling.
While Rohit Sharma ended with 71 runs, KL Rahul was the aggressor and was dismissed for 91. Virat Kohli played a fantastic knock of 70 as well, which helped India post a competitive total on the board.
The Windies, in reply, were already a man less as Evin Lewis had been stretchered out of the field after injuring his knee while attempting a dive in the first innings. The target needed the Windies batters to come out all guns blazing, and while there were a few handy knocks from Shimron Hetmyer and a captain’s knock of 68 from Pollard, the target proved too steep as India went on to win comfortably by 67 runs. They won the series 2-1, and started their preparations for Mission Australia T20 World Cup in style.
Virat Kohli was named the Man of the Series, while KL Rahul was the Player of the Match.
Here is how twitter reacted.
Inspite of losing their previous match, losing the toss and dew being a big factor, Team India played their A game in the series decider. They were positive with the team selection, batting and bowling. It was indeed a dominating performance. Congrats on the Series win. #INDvsWI

Anyone know if there is something Virat Kohli can’t do on a cricket ground?

Honestly, @imVkohli can’t be human. He could shine with the bat with his eyes closed. Outrageous. #INDvsWI
