Top 5 Players with Most Runs at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL History
The mention of M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is synonymous with passionate Bengaluru crowd, which certainly can’t escape someone’s mind. The way they support their home side, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), is mind-blowing, as RCB enjoys the highest fan following on social media, amongst all other teams. Though the team hasn’t won a title yet, the squad is on the hunt for it for the last 17 years. There has been no shortage of enthusiasm and energy since the day one until today. The M. Chinnaswamy stadium is the home ground of RCB and has an approximate capacity of 30,000 plus spectators.
The ground is known for its batting friendly surface, providing the batsmen enough scope to play their shots fearlessly and score runs in style. It has the unofficial tag of being a batter’s paradise and nightmare for the fast bowlers, as teams often end up chasing even 200 plus targets in the T20 format quite easily. As evident from the records available, teams have won more than 52 percent of matches while chasing targets. It clearly indicates teams prefer to field here first and then chase the posted targets.
So far, the venue has hosted a total of 98 IPL matches since 2008 and is about to complete its century soon in the ongoing 2025 edition of IPL. The first IPL match played on this ground was the first-ever match in the history of the tournament, between the home team Royal Challengers Bangalore and the visitors Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). This was the inaugural match played in April 2008, which gave the perfect start to a tournament that has now become equivalent as the world’s biggest cricket league event.

The ‘Play Bold’ squad, who has Virat Kohli as their team member since the first season itself has been responsible for taking the side to new heights, along with some other stalwarts too. The venue has witnessed many impressive individual and team performances that are still alive in fans’ minds. Fast bowlers manage to find some help as they work their way up with their variations, but there’s nothing much for spinners as they tend to go for runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) 287 for 3 against RCB is the highest team total at this venue, made in the 18th edition of IPL. Let us see the top five players who have scored the most runs at the M.
