With this incredible performance, Nicholas Pooran surpassed Chris Gayle’s record of most sixes in T20 format in a calendar year. Chris Gayle has smashed 135 sixes in the calendar year 2015. On the other hand, in just 8 months of 2024, Nicholas Pooran has already struck 139 sixes. It is worth saying that Pooran has enough time and form to go beyond the imagination and hit 200 sixes in a calendar year.

Chris Gayle also occupies the third and fourth position in the six-hitting list. He has smashed 121 sixes in 2012 and 116 in 2011.

Meanwhile, with the stellar performance in CPL 2024 match no. 3, Nicholas enters the elite list of batters with the most runs in a calendar year. Pooran trails England’s star batter Alex Hales who scored 1,946 runs in 2022, and Mohammad Rizwan, who holds the record with 2,036 runs in 2021.

In the CPL 2024 match between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Trinbago Knight Riders, Nicholas Pooran’s inning helped his team Knight Riders post a huge total of 250 runs for the loss of four wickets.

Chasing the target of 251 runs, the Patriots were restricted to 206/8 in 20 overs, handing a comfortable 44-run win to Knight Riders. Meanwhile, the fantastic performance from Nicholas Pooran showcases his power-hitting abilities and consistency in the T20 format.
