Serena Williams all set to make return on the Tennis court from Kentucky Open

Serena Williams is planning to make her return to competition at a new hard court in Kentucky next month. She will make a comeback on the hardcourt after February. 

The organizers of the Kentucky event announced on Thursday that Serena Williams and 2017 US Open Champion Sloane Stephens will participate in the tournament. 

23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams had already announced that she will participate in the upcoming edition of US Open which is supposed to begin in New York on 3rd August.

However players like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer will not play US Open this year.

Nadal withdraws his name in the wake of widespread of the deadly disease and thus doesn’t feel safe travelling at the moment. Taking about Swiss great, Roger Federer is recovering from the injury which makes him ruled out of the tournament as well. 

World number 1 tennis player, Novak Djokovic will participate in this year’s US Open 2020. Williams, apart from winning 23 grand slam titles has also clinched medals in Olympic events while representing her country United States.

She won the gold medal in 2000 and 2008 in Syndey and Beijing Olympics respectively. She also clinched gold in the 2012 London Olympics in both singles and doubles category.

Serena Williams certainly comes in the list of all-time great Tennis players. The way she made her comeback post-pregnancy is simply remarkable. She is certainly an inspiration for a lot of young girls out there who want to achieve greatness in the field of Tennis.
