IPL 2020, CSK VS RCB: Chennai have to win against Bengaluru to regain the confidence

CSK vs RCB

CSK-1

Chennai’s batting and Bengaluru’s bowling would be in focus when two sides lock horns with each other at Dubai International Stadium. Both have lost their last match are in the lower half of the table. CSK needed this win more badly as they have won only twice in six matches and another defeat would mean that they have to win every match to qualify for playoffs.

RCB better placed with 3 wins in five matches would also want to win convincingly to keep their playoff chances alive and also boost their net run rate. Chennai Super Kings have problems in batting department in the middle order with Dhoni, Jadhav is not able to hit the required boundaries which once they were used to. This has impacted their chances especially in the last match against KKR where Jadhav defended three balls of Chakravarthy in 18th over when the required run rate was 17 runs per hour.

The intent was never there to try which was questionable. It’s unlikely that he will be given another chance. Fleming would be hoping that batting gets back to best against RCB. Bowling was good with Shardul, Curran bowling brilliantly in death overs with Karn Sharma playing his first game also bowled well. Fielding was a bit disappointing with a catch drop by Jadeja and 4-5 instances of misfield which led in giving 12-15 runs more. Royal Challengers Bengaluru will like to forget about the last match and put their best foot forward.

Kohli would hope for improvement in all three departments. The batsman should be ready to chase down 190-200 scores on someday and should put their hands up to make a match of it. Bowling still seems to be an issue and management would like to see improvement in that regard. Udana, Siraj would like to be more accurate with ball and Saini, Chahal would think their last performance as a one-off and want to take wickets.

Fielding needs improvement by leaps and bounds and as Kohli mentioned that we are dropping sitters and can’t afford to commit such mistakes in a tournament where margins for error are small. CSK largely has been on right side of result when these two teams have met but the way this IPL has gone for both teams it’s a 51 -49 in favour of RCB.
