IPL 13: It was complete team effort against Delhi, says Neesham

Kings XI Punjab all-rounder Jimmy Neesham played an important role at the end of KXIP run chase where the team clinched a five-wicket win over Delhi Capitals on Tuesday and he termed this performance as “Complete team effort”.Punjab bowlers did a superb job as they restricted Delhi to 164/5 in their 20 overs despite Shikhar Dhawan back to back centuries in IPL 2020. The credit should be given to Mohammed Shami who bowled exceptionally well as he took two wickets and gave away 28 runs in his four overs.

When Punjab came out to chase the target of 164 runs they were able to make home due to Nicholas Pooran 52 runs of 28 balls, Glenn Maxwell 32 runs and chip in contribution from Deepak Hooda and Jimmy Neesham where they both scored 15 and 10 runs respectively to make sure that they cross the line at the end. Neesham talked about the entire experience in detail.

“We talked about finishing it in the 19th Over and It was good to do it for a change instead of putting stress on fans hearts. I thought it was overall great effort, the bowlers were outstanding to restrict them to 160 something and the way Chris batted in the powerplay. It really allowed guys like Maxi and me to come out and take our time and Pooran was outstanding as he has been in the whole tournament and I think It was a complete team effort” Neesham said this on a video posted on KXIP Twitter Handle.

KXIP are currently placed at the fifth position in the points table with 8 points from 10 Matches after defeating table-toppers Delhi Capitals who are currently placed at first position despite that loss with 14 points. KXIP will next lock horns against Sun Risers Hyderabad at Dubai International stadium on October 24th.
