Galatasaray SK , also known as The Yellow-Red, is a Turkish Football Club. They participate in the Super Lig and Turkish Cup. The Club also appears in major European competitions like the UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

HISTORY

Galatasaray was founded 114 years ago on 30th October, 1905 by a 19-year-old boy named Ali Sami Yen.

The club for over half a century competed in Instanbul’s local Championships during its initial stages. In 1959, after reaching an excellent position, the club started spreading its dominance nationwide.

The club won their first Championship title in 1962, following which in 1963 they won a Championship and a Cup.

The turning point of the club came around 2000 when they defeated the Gunners in UEFA Cup finals to become the first Turkish club to lift a major European trophy.

After winning their 20th Super Lig title, the club boasted four stars over their logo.

Club Ownership

The ownership of Yellow-Red is currently in the hands of  Galatasaray Spor Kulubu Turkish sports club which the Football Club is a part of. Apart from Football, the club also promotes 15 different sports.

Since origin, the club has changed its home stadium five times. The current home ground of the club is the Turk Telekom Arena which has a net capacity to hold 52,652 spectators

The current net worth of the club is 347 Million Dollars.
