CSK Management to take tough call ahead of next IPL season: Report

CSK-1

Chennai Super Kings have disappointed their fans this year as they have won three games and lost seven out of 10 matches they have played in IPL 2020 which means that it will not be easy for boys in Yellow to qualify for the playoffs in this edition as they need to win all their remaining matches with high net run rate. The franchise will not admit but they are certainly missing Raina and Harbhajan who pulled out from IPL 2020 due to personal reasons.

As per the media reports the CSK management is not happy with the performance of certain players in IPL 2020 as they lacked intent throughout the tournament. Also CSK Head Coach Stephen Fleming have already hinted in post-match conference that changes can be seen ahead of upcoming season to strengthen their squad for IPL 2021. While the likes of Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu remain in the team, they haven’t quite managed to finish off games even when good starts have been there.

Questions have been raised on MS Dhoni‘s Captaincy over his decision to back Kedar Jadhav whose form has been disastrous with the bat this season and he can be one of the players along with veterans who will be shown door, especially when auction take place for next season.

“See as Fleming has said, lot of chinks in the armour has been exposed this time. Some tough calls surely will be taken. The only issue is there is little time between now and the next edition”, a source was quoted as saying in the report.

Based on the reports circulating that the experienced players like Watson, Jadhav, Tahir will be shown doors for the next season and they will be replaced with young players while Raina and Harbhajan have already completed their 3 year contracts with CSK. The next year of IPL can become a last stint for Captain Cool who retired from International cricket this year and also his form in the current season has not been good with the bat. If Dhoni Retires after playing IPL 2021 it will certainly become hard for fans to imagine the franchise without Dhoni.
