As the eagerly anticipated Asian Games 2023 draw near, India has revealed its stellar badminton contingent set to vie for supremacy at the continental spectacle. Scheduled to take place in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China, from September 23 to October 8, 2023, the Asian Games will witness the convergence of Asia’s finest athletes across 40 sports, all striving for coveted honors.

For context, the previous edition, Jakarta 2018, witnessed India’s participation with 570 athletes competing in 36 sports. The forthcoming 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, which was initially slated for 2022 but postponed due to the global pandemic, promises to be a spectacular showcase of Asian athleticism.

 

The badminton contingent, handpicked for their exceptional skills and dedication, mirrors India’s commitment to excellence in the sporting arena. The lineup for men’s singles includes stalwarts such as HS Prannoy, Kidambi Srikanth, the rising star Lakshya Sen, and Mithun Manjunath. Each player carries a distinctive style and a formidable record, adding to the prospect of a captivating showcase of talent on the court.

In the men’s doubles category, India will be represented by the dynamic duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, as well as the formidable pairs of Dhruv Kapila and MR Arjun.
