The Women’s Premier League is scheduled to hold its maiden season in Mumbai beginning in March 2023, lasting a full 22 days.
The first game of the competition will be between Mumbai and Gujarat, and organisers expect it to be similar to the Men’s IPL opener between RCB and KKR, where McCullum ignited the Bangalore-based franchise with his scorching 158-run knock.
Malika Advani, a women’s auctioneer, will be in charge for the first time in the history of T20 franchise cricket. Women’s cricket has reached a turning point now that those who desire to pursue careers as auctioneers can do so. The franchise was purchased by the Mumbai Indians ladies for the staggering sum of 913 crore.
