WPL 2023: Mumbai Indians Women beat UP Warriorz by 72 runs to meet Delhi in the final

Looking at how Mumbai Indians performed in their first five games, It was clear that they are deserving finalists, and the way they demolished UP Warriorz by 72 runs definitely indicates that they are set to give Delhi Capitals a nightmare.

When Delhi and Mumbai compete for the coveted crown, it will be a battle between the country’s capital and commercial capital.

Dwelling more into the details of the eliminator game held today against UP Warriorz, Mumbai lost the toss and they had no choice left but to bat first where they lost two quick wickets but the partnership between Harmanpreet Kaur and Natalie Sciver propelled Mumbai to score bulk amount of runs in few overs.

When Kaur lost her wicket on 14 runs, Indians were looking in trouble then comes Amelie Kerr who has done wonders for this franchise so far scored another fiery 29 runs from 19 balls at a strike rate of 152.63.

The Highlight of Indians batting is nothing else but Natalie Sciver, who scored brilliant 72 runs from 38 balls with nine blistering four and two astounding sixes at a strike rate of 189.47.

Eventually few sixes from Pooja Vastrakar who scored 11 runs from 4 balls with a brilliant strike rate of 275.00 helped Mumbai to score 182 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in their quota of 20 overs which itself is a par total.

When Warriorz came out to bat for chasing 182 runs, they lost early wicket of skipper Alyssa Healy and Shweta Sehrawat who were dismissed cheaply for 13 runs combined.

Kiran Navgire tried hard to rescue Warriorz with her brilliant 43 runs from 27 balls with a strike rate of 159.26 but she didn’t received compliment from other batters Grace Harris and Tahila McGrath who were one of the most reliable middle order batters for Warriorz in crunch situations but they couldn’t deliver when UP needed them to go all guns blazing.

With Mumbai’s victory against Warriorz, they will be next meeting Delhi Capitals another fantastic team of the tournament to decide the eventual winner for WPL 2023.
