Shweta Sehrawat is in line to become the next big thing in Indian women’s cricket and is expected to join the elite list of Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur. She became an even more hot topic as she was served as the vice-captain of the Indian ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World cup winning team in the inaugural season.
She grew up in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. Her first interaction with Cricket came when she used to drop her younger brother to the cricket academy and at times, the 18-year-old would shadow practice all by her own. She represented Delhi across various group levels before being picked for U-19 Delhi team and the U-19 Indian team for the World cup.
The vice-captain did not only win the WC but she is also finished the tournament as the highest run-getter with 297 runs with quite an unbelievable average of 99. She will head into the inaugural WPL auction hoping to get picked by any team after her extra-ordinary Batting display at the WC.
