In a gripping climax to the IPL 2023 season, the Chennai Super Kings emerged triumphant by defeating the Gujarat Titans in a nail-biting final, thus capturing their fifth IPL title. Fans of Gujarat Titans had come to the Narendra Modi Stadium to see GT lift the IPL trophy for a 2nd time in a row but they were eventually left heartbroken and we have compiled some of the best fan reactions.

Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha formed a solid opening partnership for the Gujarat Titans, laying a strong foundation. Saha’s elegant 54 runs and Gill’s aggressive batting put the Chennai bowlers on the defensive.

The Gujarat Titans’ middle-order, led by Sai Sudarsan’s impressive 96 runs and Hardik Pandya’s dynamic captaincy with 21 runs, took advantage of the strong start. They set a daunting target of 215 runs for the Chennai Super Kings to chase.

Chasing the target, Chennai Super Kings got off to an aggressive start, led by opener Ruturaj Gaikwad’s powerful strokes. However, the disciplined bowling attack of the Gujarat Titans, led by Mohit Sharma, restricted Chennai’s progress. Sharma’s clever use of spin resulted in crucial wickets, and spinner Noor Ahmad also played a significant role by taking two important wickets.

Chennai faced a setback when their captain MS Dhoni was dismissed for a Golden Duck by Mohit Sharma. Despite this setback, Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shiva Dube made spirited contributions with their respective scores.

In an exhilarating final over, Chennai Super Kings needed 10 runs from the last two balls. Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja rose to the occasion, smashing a six on the fifth ball and then finding a gap at fine leg for four runs on the final delivery of the innings.
