Victor Osimhen is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as forward for the Nigeria national team and French Ligue 1 club Lille. He stepped into professional football through the VFL Wolfsburg in 2017. He then was transferred to Charleroi on loan but later he became a permanent player of the team but very soon joined Lille. He has been part of the Nigerian national team, since its youth squad. In 2017 he started playing for the senior side of the team.
EARLY LIFE
Victor was born on 29th December 1998 in Lagos, Nigeria. He was the sixth child of his parents, Victor’s parents belonged from Southern Nigeria, Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State. His family surname Osimhen means God is Good in native Islam Dialect. He came from a very poor family thus, his family had to face many hardships to survive. He and his brother Andrew and four other siblings grew up in a small community around Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos, which is one of Africa’s largest dumpsite in Africa. To survive he and his siblings used to hawk sachet water and other household commodities on the streets to earn money.

PROFESSIONAL LIFE
On 5th January 2017, Osimhen joined the Vfl Wolfsburg for a three-and-a-half-year contract lasting till 2020. He made his debut for the club from the Bundesliga match as a substitute in a 1-1 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach. His performances in the matches for the club were very good so good that he got a confirmed cameo for his second appearance for another Bundesliga tournament. He was named in 12 of the 17 matchday squads in the first half of the 2017-18 season. In 2018 as promised he played Bundesliga match as his first full match on 11th February against the Werder Bremen. He further assisted the team to reach the DFB Pokal quarter-finals replacing the midfielder Josuha Guilavougi for the last ten-ten minutes but eventually, his team lost the match by 1-0.
On 22 August 2018, he joined the Belgian club Charleroi on a season-long deal, in the club he entered as a replacement of departed KavehKeveh Rezaei who was sold to Club Brugge. On 1st September he played against the Excel Mouscron, as a late substitute for Jeremy Perbet. He made his full debut for the club on 22nd September and netted his first professional goal against Waasland-Beveren. On 22nd March he netted two goals against the Zulte Waregem in a 3-2 win. In July 2019 he moved to Lille OSC, playing for the club he made his debut for Lille OSC in the Ligue 1 match against the Nantes in a 2-1 win. For the national team, Osimhen was named in the Nigeria under-17 team that won the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup. In the tournament, he won the Golden Boot and Silver Ball Awards. He was also honored as the CAF Youth Player of the Year award in 2015. Osimhen started playing from the senior side of the team from 2017 he played his debut match against Togo in a 3-0 win.
