Rudi Garcia likens Victor Osimhen to Legendary Cristiano Ronaldo

Victor Osimhen

Rudi Garcia, the man who was in charge of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr until this April, has compared the Portuguese ace to his new player at new club, Victor Osimhen and Napoli. Yesterday the club announced Garcia’s arrival and the Frenchman will be looking to continue the club’s dominance intact in Italy.

Though many Napoli fans would have been shocked at Luciano Spalleti’s decision to walk out of the club but they have brought an actually very good replacement. Garcia left Al-Nassr with a win percentage of 69.23 but having no trophies to show for.

That reason did not go well with the Saudi outfit who had Cristiano Ronaldo at the club by then. On April 2023, Al-Nassr sacked Rudi Garcia and he might or might not have an easy task to do. He is taking over a club that won Serie A after more than 3 decades and it will be only better if the 59-year-old keeps winning trophies.

He has a great squad (with a bit of rebuilding needed) to take over. It will be his second stint at Naples and he returns after 7 years. One of the players he has very much liked already is Nigerian International Victor Osimhen.

The 24-year-old was pivotal in Napoli’s run last year, scored 31 goals in 39 apps and was running the show with another player Rudi Garcia will love, Georgia’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Rudi Garcia stated that Victor Osimhen is a true leader and a team Man just like his former player Cristiano Ronaldo. He called Osimhen the best Centre forward in the world and also appreciated his attributes.

“Victor is a crazy dragger: he wants to win and drags the team. A bit like Cristiano Ronaldo: when he wins he’s delighted, he calls the team, he wants to take a souvenir photo… I like it, he’s one of the best in the world as a centre-forward. It’s nice to see that a player who could only play the offensive phase defends like crazy, presses, comes back, helps the team.” – Rudi Garcia in a recent interview.
