CSK star player, Suresh Raina has returned home from UAE due to personal reasons and won’t be part of this year’s IPL, Chennai Super Kings confirmed on Twitter.

Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season. Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time- KS Viswanathan CEO” The franchise wrote on its Twitter handle.

All the members of CSK reached the UAE on 21st August 2020 and spent the mandatory 6-day isolation period. The squad was to start the training yesterday. However, it was understood that Deepak Chahar and 12 other members of CSK were tested positive for coronavirus. As a result, the whole CSK contingent will now have to extend their isolation period to one more week.

The results of the fourth test conducted on Friday will be out on 29th August 2020. The BCCI has further delayed the announcement of the schedule due to positive results in CSK camp.  

Suresh Raina recently announced his retirement from international cricket on 15th August 2020. He has been a vital cog in the CSK side over the years. The second-highest run-scorer in the tournament, Suresh Raina will no longer be a part of CSK’s squad this year. As a result, the team will have to look for a new player as their number three batsman.

Most of the teams such as Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Kings Eleven Punjab have started their training camps, while a couple of teams like Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders will start soon.
