Sport shooter Saurabh Chaudhary was born in India on May 12, 2002. In the 10 m Air Pistol, Saurabh took home the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games. At the Asian Games, Saurabh won the gold medal as the youngest Indian. At the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany, he had already won gold medals and established a new junior world record. Saurabh is the only shooter from India to have won a gold medal at the Asian Air Gun Championship, Youth Olympic Games, ISSF World Championship, and ISSF World Cup. At the 2018 World Championship in Changwon, Korea, Saurabh Chaudhary shattered his own world record in the Junior Men 10m Air Pistol event with a score of 245.5.

Early Life

Saurabh Chaudhary was born in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh’s western Kalina village (district Meerut). Saurabh Chaudhary is from a farming family that lives in western Uttar Pradesh’s Yamuna and Gangatic plains. Jagmohan Singh Siwach is Saurabh’s father. Saurabh started shooting when he was 13 years old, practicing every day while riding buses 15 kilometers to his club, which is run by the Aryangateways Sports Foundation. Amit Sheoran, his coach, recognized his talent and developed him from the ground up.

Olympics Career

At the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Saurabh Chaudhary won gold in the 10m air pistol event at the age of 16. Saurabh Chaudhary shot 244.2 to win the competition ahead of Sung Yunho of the country South Korea (236.7) and Solari Jason of the country Switzerland (215.6), who took home silver and bronze, respectively.

At the Asian Games, Chaudhary became the nation’s youngest shooter to take home a gold medal. Saurabh Chaudhary competed in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina and took first place. In the team competition, the 10m air pistol competition, and the mixed team 10m air pistol competition at the Asian Airgun Championship in the year 2018, Saurabh Chaudhary took home three gold medals.

Saurabh Chaudhary won the gold medal at the ISSF World Cup in Delhi in the month of February.

Saurabh Chaudhary competed in the Mixed Team 10m pistol event in April with Manu Bhaker, winning gold at the ISSF World Cup in Beijing.

Saurabh Chaudhary won gold and set new junior and global records in the 10m pistol ISSF Global Cup in Munich in the month of May.

Saurabh Chaudhary won the 63rd gold medal in the men’s 10-meter air pistol event at the 63rd National Shooting Championship in the month of January of the year 2020.

Saurabh Chaudhary made it to the final in the men’s 10-meter air pistol event at the Tokyo Olympics, coming in seventh.
