His remarks came after Delhi faced criticism when Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant failed to deliver in the first match of the cash-rich league against Kings X1 Punjab instead they have someone like Rahane in the squad. A question was asked to him related to Rahane when we will see him playing for Capitals to which he explained the thought process of entire team management in detail.

“Shaw and Shikhar played well for us last year, we all know what Dhawan can do and Shaw is a promising player, having played the first game, we know the conditions, even though we didn’t play that well but I see improvement happening in the upcoming matches. Rahane is a fantastic player, but if we have selected a team then we would like to give player a couple of matches, then we would see it from there” said Kaif while talking to ANI.

Ashwin was instrumental for Delhi against Punjab as he only bowled one over where he gave 2 runs for 2 wickets and took priceless wicket of Nicholas Pooran. When asked about Ashwin’s availability in the next match against Chennai to which Former Indian player replied that it will be decided later that whether he is fit to play next match or not.

He appreciated Marcus Stoinis for his outstanding knock where the Aussie started hitting in the last against Kings X1 Punjab before setting himself in and then accelerated his game in later overs for Delhi Capitals.
