1. 3-time champions Patna Pirates crash out of PKL 9 –ย Pro Kabaddi League’s most successful outfit Patna Pirates’ journey at season 9 is over after their heavy defeat to Bengaluru Bulls last night. Reasons to blame for their poor season is inconsistency as some of the main players did not play the way it was expected from them. The team was completely dependent upon performances from raider Sachin Tanwar and All-rounder Rohit Gulia in the attacking front. In terms of defense, Mohammadreza Chiyaneh was the only player who stood up for the tasks but lack of support from other players impacted their overall results. Last night they suffered a defeat by a heavy margin of 13 points with Rohit Gulia the only player to score more than 5 points.

2. Bengaluru Bulls regain their form ahead of the play-offs –ย One time PKL champions, Bengaluru Bulls have regained their form and shape just days before the play-offs round begins. This was their second win in a row and they are looking like one of the probables to lift the PKL 9 trophy. Bulls have looked like one of the most complete and balanced sides this season as they have gone on to win 13 matches, lost 7 and drew 1. Bharat‘s form is very crucial for their overall success and last night he removed all the question marks surrounding his form as he scored 20 raid points. Another player who will be key for them in the knockout rounds is raider Neeraj Narwal who has mainly acted as deputy for Bharat and has scored 87 raid points until now. In the defensive department, captain Mahender Singh will also be a key player and so will be Saurabh Nandal. All-rounder Sachin Narwal’s form will be a complimentary thing for the South Indian outfit who are looking to win Pro Kabaddi League for the first time since 2018.

3. Tamil Thalaivas’ late comeback into the season takes them to the play-offs –ย Another South Indian outfit Tamil Thalaivas were one of the most talked about team before the start of the season. The reason why they were hot topic was when they bought the services of one of the most sought after raider in PKL, Pawan Sehrawat for over 2 crores INR. However, Sehrawat’s injury in the first match saw him head out of the tournament and never return again. But all thanks to Thalaivas’ squad depth, they had someone like Narender Kandola who stood up for every occasion and did not let the absence of Pawan deplete their season. Narender is only making his debut this season and he has already become one of the best of season 9 with 220 raid points. His performance enabled Tamil Thalaivas to seal a qualification spot last night after defeating UP Yoddhas. Only one spot is remaining as of now with Delhi and Gujarat the only two teams who are in the race for the 6th spot.
