Pat Cummins was born on May 8, 1993, in Westmead, New South Wales, Australia. He completed his schooling at St.Paul Grammar School. He grew up playing cricket in the Glenbrook Cricket Club with his brothers and idolized Brett Lee and always wanted to be a fast bowler just like him.
After his schooling, he took admission to the University of Technology, Sydney to pursue a Bachelor of Business degree. After his remarkable debut season in the 2010-11 Big Bash League in which he took 11 wickets at an average of 14.09. Cummins emerged as the leading wicket-taker in that tournament The 18-years-old Cummins soon got a National call-up.
