Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic was back in the US to show his excellence after a long time. Since then in the Cincinnati Open, he has been performing brilliantly well. The record Novak Djokovic shattered is winning the most number of consecutive matches against any player. The previous best was Rafael Nadal, he went on to win 18 consecutive games against Richard Gasquet. Now the best of Djokovic against Monfils, that is 19-0. This is certainly the record that Monfils is not going to enjoy.

How did Djokovic respond to this record?

Djokovic mentioned that they both have encountered each other many times, in the last 15 years, and they have played even at the junior level. At the same time, he also mentioned the athleticism of Monfils is brilliant because of the couple of points he got in the first set.

On the other hand, there is no doubt that Monfils was certainly not a threat to Djokovic. That is because the skills of Djokovic are certainly far ahead of the Monfils. In the second set of the match, Monfils was able to get a break only once, and that clearly shows the dominance of Djokovic over him.

There was no comeback opportunity that was given to him by Djokovic. The match ended in almost an hour. In the first match of the Cincinnati Open, Djokovic retired due to a back injury. That was certainly an easy win for them. The next match is against Taylor Fritz, and he is certainly going to give a brilliant fightback to Djokovic.
