Novak Djokovic opposing the idea of compulsory vaccination

World number 1 Tennis Player, Novac Djokovic confirms his participation in the US Open in New York this month, along with Western and Southern Open before that.

There was a lot of speculation about his participation in the mega event after he was tested positive for COVID-19 after the home event in Serbia. Other big stars like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Nick Kygrios have already withdrawn their name for the upcoming mega event.

I’m happy to confirm that I‘ll participate at #CincyTennis and #USOpen this year. It was not an easy decision to make with all the obstacles and challenges on many sides, but the prospect of competing again makes me really excited” Novac Djokovic tweeted confirming his participation.

 

He also said that he is fully aware of the protocols and safety measures that are put in place to protect players and people of New York . He is assured that he is keeping well now and have trained hard with his team before the mega event.

I’ve done all the check-ups to make sure I am fully recovered and I am ready to get back on court fully committed to playing my best tennis” Djokovic added.

He understands that all the top stars will not compete this year due to the current situation due to COVID-19.

He is optimistic about the current situation which will soon change and life will again come back to normal. Also we will certainly see fans visiting at the courts in huge number to support their favourite stars.

The Western & Southern Open will be played at Flushing Meadows from August 22-28, while the US Open begins on August 31. Both tournaments will be played without fans.
