Hrithik Shokeen is an emerging Indian cricketer. This 22 years old player is a right handed all-rounder and plays majorly as a bowler. In November 2019, he was named in India U23’s squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh.The spectacular performance in Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2018/19 earned him his cap in the U-23 Emerging squad in multiple bilateral tournaments. The player received his List A cap for India U23 against Nepal in the Emerging Teams Cup on 14 November 2019.

Hrithik Shokeen was born on 14 August 2000 in Delhi, India, and was born and brought up in the capital of the nation. He started playing cricket in early childhood and it turned to his passion with time. He started playing cricket at the age of 7 and joined the cricket academy. The youngster initially wanted to play as a batsman but due to his cricket coach’s advice, after seeing his bowling, his coach asked him to bowl practice, and then at the behest of his cricket coach, he became a spin bowler. The off spinner has not been able to feature for the Delhi state in any of the domestic tournaments like Ranji Trophy or Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, he was one of the members of the Ranji Trophy 2022 squad and rubbed shoulders with the likes of legendary Ishant Sharma, Nitish Rana, and the promising Navdeep Saini.
On his debut in the Indian Premier League, Shokeen finished with figures of 0/23 off four overs and helped to put the brakes on the opposition team. However, the Chennai outfit secured the victory by chasing down the competitive target of 156 runs. The legendary coach of Indian cricket,Tarak Sinha was the motivating factor for Shokeen who had love and passion for cricket running in his blood. He learned all his cricket tricks from the famous Sonate Cricket Club of Delhi, and his cricket coach was Tarak Sinha, who is no longer in this world.
Shokeen plays as a right arm off break spinner bowler in his state as well as franchise team and he is known as a wicket-taker-off spin bowler. He can also play as a Right-handed batsman, but balling is his strength, and he plays well in middle order as a batsman. Hrithk Shokeen plays for Delhi in the domestic circuit and has so far represented his state team in eight List A matches, having bagged as many wickets as possible. He has played in many local, state, national and international tournaments before getting the Indian Premier League call up. This player is full of energy for his passion for playing cricket. Because of his young age and passion, the Board for Cricket Control in India is considering him as an emerging all-rounder in the coming tournaments for the national team.

Considering his talent and passion for cricket he got a chance in February 2022; he was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament. On 21st April 2022, he made his Twenty20 debut for the Mumbai Indians in the 2022 IPL. In February 2019, he made his debut in the Under-19 against South Africa. He took 10 wickets in two matches. In Match 33 of 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, the young chap Hrithik Shokeen made his debut for Mumbai Indians against Chennai Super Kings. In the mega auctions held in Bengaluru, Hrithik was picked up by the Mumbai franchise for a bid worth 20 lakhs.
Hrithik Shokeen became the first tactical substitute – known as “Impact Player” – in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy that was played in 2022. Shokeen, the right arm off spinner, was brought into the game at the start of the second innings by Delhi as they were looking to defend 167 against Manipur in an Elite Group B fixture of the T20 competition.

In the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament, Hrithik Shoukeen became the first ever player to feature as an Impact Substitute. This will be a new addition to the Indian Premier League 2023 as well.
