Dinesh Karthik reveals the unplayable bowler in nets ‘also names him torture’

The current unit of pacers for the Indian cricket squad includes some excellent players. While Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are currently the team’s most senior players, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and Umran Malik are quickly moving up the ranks as well. Shami came out on top when Dinesh Karthik was asked who the “toughest” opponent he had faced in the nets was. Not only that, but Kathik described facing Shami in the nets as “torture.”

Karthik also revealed that others, including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, did not want to face Shami in the nets during the “Rise of New India” event on Cricbuzz.

“If I were to sum up Shami in one word, it would be “torture.” He is the hardest bowler I have ever faced in the nets in my entire career, and he also got me out a few occasions during the game. He hasn’t been nice to play in the nets, though. I questioned Kohli and Rohit, two legendary players who I initially believed to be the only ones who felt this way, and they both acknowledged they detested facing Shami “he said.

When discussing Shami’s “strengths,” Karthik disclosed that the seasoned pacer always bowls with all of his strength and vigour in the practise arena.

“His upright seam posture, natural length, and unpleasant length of 6 to 8 metres, where the two main modes of dismissal are caught behind or caught at slip, are all strengths that come into play during net practise. Additionally, you can understand why he has had bad luck over time because the length indicates that he consistently beats the batsman without ever taking the wicket. He has participated in international tournaments where he always came out on the losing end as the bowler who has most of his deliveries beaten but never has enough wickets to show for it “The batter who was the wicket-keeper gave an explanation.
