Alexis Kaufman, popularly known by her ring name Alexa Bliss, is a female American professional wrestler, currently working for World Wrestling Entertainment on the Smackdown brand. Alexis started her professional wrestling career with WWE in 2013 where she was assigned to WWE Performance Center for training and then to its developmental territory NXT.

Alexis made her first televised in-ring debut on NXT by participating in a tournament for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship, however, she lost to Charlotte Flair in the semi-finals. During her time at NXT, she feuded with divas such as Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax and many more.

In 2016, Bliss made her WWE main roster debut on Smackdown and achieved her first victory by defeating Becky Lynch. At TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, Bliss defeated Lynch in a tables match to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Bliss lost her title to Naomi at Elimination Chamber. Bliss defeated Lynch to capture the title for the second time after Naomi vacated the title due to injury.

Bliss moved to WWE Raw in 2017 as a part of Superstar Shakeup. Bliss defeated Bayley to become the new Raw Women’s Champion, marking herself as the first woman to win the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships. Bliss also feuded with WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus and Lita. At  WWE Evolution, the first-ever all women’s pay-per-view, Trish and Lita defeated Bliss and Mickie James in a tag team match,

Alexa Bliss was announced as a host for Wrestlemania,35 this year. Bliss formed a tag team with Nikki Cross in a fatal four-way tag team elimination match, also involving Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville and The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane). Bliss pinned Sane to win the championship.

EARLY LIFE

Alexis Kaufman was born on  August 9, 1991 in Columbus, Ohio, United States. She has always been a sport enthusiast, that made her participating in  softball, track, kickboxing and gymnastics. She was also involved in cheer leading  and performed with ‘Hilliard Davidson High School.’ Alexis persuaded her academics from Providence High School’ in North Carolina.  She also attended the ‘Columbus Community College’  and ‘University of Akron’ where she reached ‘Division I’ status as a cheerleader.

Alexis Kaufman resides in  Orlando, Florida, United States. Alexis is engaged to fellow professional wrestler Matthew Adams, better known by his ring name as ‘Buddy Murphy.’ Her father’s name is Bob Kaufman and mother is Angela Kaufman. Alexis has been a huge fan of Disney since childhood when she used to  with her family when she was just three years old.

PROFESSIONAL LIFE

Alexis Kaufman kicked off her professional wrestling career in 2013, where she was assigned to to WWE’s developmental territory, ‘WWE NXT.’. She made her on-screen debut while congratulating WWE Diva Paige on becoming the first ‘WWE NXT’ women’s champion. In 2013,  Alexis Kaufman changed her ring name to Alexa Bliss, that was added to the official ‘NXT’ roster page on WWE’s website. She made her first televised appearance after entering the main roster was broadcast at Wrestlemania 30 during Triple H’s entrance at the ‘Mercedes-Benz Superdome’ in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 2014, she made her televised debut as a wrestler in a tournament for the ‘WWE NXT Women’s Championship.’ She defeated Alicia Fox in the first round of the tournament, but lost to Ric Flair’s daughter Charlotte Flair in the semi-finals. She defeated Carmella in an ‘NXT’ match. She also defeated the reigning ‘NXT’ women’s champion Sasha Banks through count-out. As a result of this victory, she bagged  a title match opportunity against Banks, which she lost.

In 2015,  she aided the team of Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake retain their ‘WWE NXT Tag Team Championship’ against Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. She once again helped Murphy and Blake defend their title against the team of Aiden English and Simon Gotch (The Vaudevillians).

Alexa was drafted into the ‘WWE SmackDown’ brand in 2016 as part of the ‘WWE’ draft. She achieved her first victory against Irish wrestler Becky Lynch. She teamed up with Natalya and Nikki Bella to win the 2016 ‘SummerSlam’ match against the team of Becky Lynch, Carmella, and Naomi.

Bliss tasted a defeat against Becky Lynch during a ‘six-pack elimination challenge,’ which was to determine the inaugural women’s champion at ‘SmackDown.’ At  TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs’ event she defeated Lynch to become the ‘SmackDown Women’s Champion.’ She successfully defended her ‘SmackDown Women’s Championship’ against Lynch in a ‘steel cage’ match. However, she lost the title to Naomi  She regained the title once again, and became the first woman to win the ‘SmackDown Women’s Championship’ twice.

In 2017,  she was drafted into the ‘WWE Raw’ brand as part of the ‘Superstar Shake-up’. She started herfeud with ‘Raw’ women’s champion Bayley, whom she defeated to clinch the ‘WWE Raw Women’s Championship.’ With this win, she became the first wrestler to win women’s championships at ‘SmackDown’ and ‘Raw.’  She lost her ‘Raw Women’s Championship’ to Sasha Banks at Summerslam, however regained the title after a week.

At Wrestlemania 34, Bliss lost the title to Nia Jax, ending her reign at 223 days. She challenged Nia Jax for the title once again, however, she was unsuccessful and suffered a shoulder injury during the match. Bliss participated in Money In The Bank match and won the briefcase. She cashed in the contract on the same night on Nia Jax and defeated her and Ronda Rousey, to win the Raw Women’s Championship for a third time.

Bliss also feuded with WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus and Lita. At  WWE Evolution, the first ever all women’s pay-per-view, Trish and Lita defeated Bliss and Mickie James in a tag team match,

Alexa Bliss was announced as a host for Wrestlemania 35 this year. Bliss was given an interview segment named “Moment of Bliss”, where she interviewed various guests. Bliss formed a tag team with Nikki Cross in a fatal four-way tag team elimination match, also involving Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville and The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane). Bliss pinned Sane to win the championship.

Alexa Bliss also made her video game debut as a playable character in WWE 2K17, WWE 2K18, and in WWE 2K19.
