This win was not merely for a title but was something far more profound. Alcaraz etched his name in history through the records when he emerged the youngest players to win the Grand Slam players on the three surfaces which are the clay, hard court and the grass surfaces.

Alcaraz, who was born and raised in Spain, wanted to be like the grand slam’s champion compatriot Rafael Nadal. He surprised many on red clay while his preference would lean more towards hard courts. Thousands of hours of practice and professionalism have led him to become one of the leading tennis player at such a young age.

The title triumph of Alcaraz can be recognized as the signal of the generation’s shift in men’s tennis. The period of three giants Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer, who dominated the tennis field for over 10 years, is gradually coming closer to its end. Even though, these legends are still icons, the upcoming era represents Alcaraz, which embarks on a fresh new journey of tennis.

The final was not an easy win for Alcaraz. It was the kind of match in which both players made some unforced errors as wells as some inconsistency at times. Nevertheless, the best was saved for the last as Alcaraz came out as a top performer in the latter stages. He displays his strong forehands, drop shots, and even half-volley shots which were his special shots. Alcaraz is known to play aggressively and that, combined with his rhythmic shout every time he lands a punch, made the pressure on Zverev quite enormous the whole time.

Carlos Alcaraz headed to the French Open 2024 with doubts. He had had a forearm injury and had not been able to practice much prior to a major tournament. But he won the battle against these factors that could have easily put an end to his spirited sporting activities. Conquering Roland Garros was crucial for him as this title was the first one in his career.

Heralding Nadal’s victories, the Spanish flags had hung in Court Philippe Chatrier; this, they unfurled – “Carlos! Carlos!” While Alcaraz is still young, he has had a remarkable career. He has now become part of Spanish greats like his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero who tasted the French Tutrtle Open success in 2003. The modern breakthrough tennis player, who possesses a unique set of skills, commitment to the game, and the fighting spirit, is assured to rule the men’s tennis for many years.
